Summer Courses ’22

Since running our first strings course in 2013 we have now expanded to running 6 courses in summer 2022, covering classical and jazz, instrumental and singing courses.

Click here to download a registration form - please return this to either MMC Front Desk on a Saturday or email a scanned copy to  to secure your place.

Common features of all the courses are as follows:

  • Tuition is delivered by DBS-checked freelance professional musicians, most of whom are also regular tutors at MMC.
  • Sessions run from 10am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 8pm on the Friday where we will hold our final concert in the United Reform Church, Park Green, Macclesfield.
  • Participants need to attend every day as we build on learning from the previous day with the aim of preparing for the end of course concert on the Friday.
  • Sessions will include small and larger ensemble rehearsals. The under 18s courses will also include musicianship and singing sessions.
  • The fee covers all tuition and music provision. Unfortunately we are unable to accept childcare vouchers as we run these courses as an ad hoc venture.
  • Please bring your own refreshments each day.
  • The courses will run concurrently in pairs so it is generally only possible to sign up for one course per week. We hope to conclude each end of course concert a joint number involving everyone from both courses as a grand finale!
  • Joining MMC for the summer term will qualify you for the cheaper rate.
  • Bursaries may be available for those on low incomes. Please enquire further.

Benefits of attending a music course

  • Improve your all round musicianship by developing your sight reading, technical and performance skills
  • Experience the thrill of making music in both small and large ensembles
  • Develop team-working and preparation skills
  • Be inspired by our fantastic tutors
  • Make new like-minded friends
