We have a huge variety of music-making groups at MMC and you can attend as many groups as you wish to for an inclusive termly fee of just £40!
We hope there will be something that appeals to you, but if not please ask, as it may be possible to start new groups if there is sufficient interest.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Musicianship for young children
Our highly trained and experienced tutor runs 4 groups drawing on Kodaly methods and Dalcroze eurhythmics to introduce young children to music through singing, games, movement and instrumental work, providing an excellent foundation before formal instrumental lessons.
Music for Minis
Music for Minors
Music for Majors
For many members this is the first chance they will have to benefit from professional vocal training. Good technique - including diction and breathing - is taught informally within the songs. The repertoire covers popular and traditional songs from many different cultures in both unison and parts.
High School Choir
Learning ukulele is a fantastic way to enter instrumental music making, at whatever age. Our tutor has spare ukuleles to borrow if you are tempted to come and have a go, and try before you buy.
Drum & Percussion Group
Total beginners can learn basic rhythmic skills while the more experienced can play sophisticated parts so that the group works as a team.
When a beginner has had group tuition for two years they will be encouraged to join an elementary group or elementary orchestra (included in their termly membership of MMC) and have individual lessons or lessons in pairs with a tutor (times and additional payment arranged with individual tutors).
